Traditional Dance Performance in Solo, "Pesona Mutiara Jawa 2022"

 

The Department of Education and Culture of Central Java Province of the Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah held a traditional dance performance at Pendhapa Agung Gendhon Humardhani, Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah, Surakarta.

 

The event, entitled Pesona Mutiara Jawa 2022 (Charm of Java Pearl 2022), addresses the theme of Menyurat yang Silam, Menggurat yang Menjelang (Correspondence of the Past, Writing of the Future). The government will hold this event for two consecutive days on 12^th and 13^th October 2022 starting at 19.30 WIB (07.30 pm) until finished.

 

This traditional dance show will perform quite a lot of traditional dances from several areas. On the first day, this event will feature the Pesona Jawa Tengah Dance, the Bedhayan Cheng Ho Dance, the Geol Kenes Dance, the Grombyong Dance, and the Lengger Tulen Dance. Next, on the second day, they will show the Retno Bini dance, Cowongan dance, Manja Brang Lor dance, Mandatara Avadana dance, Nderes dance, and Srengenge Kembar dance. 

 

Dancers from various dance studios in several areas of Central Java will perform all those traditional dances. People can watch this performance live at the Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah or via live streaming on the Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah youtube channel. Furthermore, the public can watch this event for free without being charged a penny.

 

“This event is very useful to help the government introduce traditional dances to the younger generation and as an effort to preserve regional arts. Moreover, to watch this event is free of charge,” said Joko, one of the audiences.
