Batik Solo Trans (BST) Extends the Free-Charge until the End of This Year
The government announced the extended free-charge of Batik Solo Trans (BST) to every passenger including students and the elderly until the end of this year.
Taufiq Muhammad, the Head of the Transportation Department, stated that this policy still going on since Solo's government gladly provides an allowance for these public transportations, BST and Feeder BST. “They paid 3.3 billion in total to the central government”. He explained
The free-charge policy is supposed to end on October 31 and everyone needs to pay Rp3.700 once they get on the bus or feeder. The payment will expire within three hours, so people will not get charged if they can transit between buses during that period.
Now, each passenger is required to tap their e-money although it is still free. Suhadi, one of the BST drivers, said “we need to collect the amount of e-money tapped from the passengers for data verification”.
